Prosecutors Drop Felony Charges Against Marcell Ozuna
3 years agoAfter reviewing bodycam footage of a domestic violence incident involving Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna, local prosecutors have decided to drop the felony aggravated assault, strangulation charge against Ozuna, according to Amy Dash of Fox Sports Radio. Despite the dropped felony charge, Ozuna is still facing two misdemeanor charges of battery, family violence and simple assault, family violence — which could carry a potential jail sentence of up to a year. While it seems that Ozuna may plead out and avoid jail time, there's still no guarantee that he will take the field again this year as MLB has not concluded their investigation yet. Managers can continue to stash him on their bench if they want, but there's a better than 50-50 chance he will not play again in 2021.
