2 years agoBoston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Devers will take a seat after going 1-for-3 with a double and a strikeout in the embarrassing blowout loss to the Blue Jays to kick off the second half of the season on Friday. The 25-year-old Dominican is one of the best all-around hitters in baseball, as he's slashing .324/.379/.602 with a .981 OPS, 22 home runs, 55 RBI, 62 runs scored and two stolen bases in 349 at-bats this year. His 113 hits lead off of baseball. Rookie Jeter Downs will start at the hot corner and bat ninth on Saturday against Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah.
