Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts, Christian Vazquez Sit Friday

4 years agoBoston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers, shortstop Xander Bogaerts, and catcher Christian Vazquez are all out of the club’s starting lineup Friday against Atlanta and right-hander Kyle Wright. Devers has been in a recent rut, with just a .188 on-base percentage over his last seven contests, while Vazquez has come out of his malaise as of late with a .466 SLG during September. Bogaerts is in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, although he has not driven in a run since Sept. 6. Christian Arroyo will slot up the No. 2 spot in the order, with Kevin Plawecki taking over behind the dish. Expect the trio back for Saturday versus Atlanta, who has not yet named a starter.--Jesse Borek
