3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Rafael Montero struggled again on the mound on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk in one inning of work against the Athletics. It was his fourth straight appearance in which he allowed two or more runs, as he has now allowed 10 runs — nine earned — on 15 hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings of work. That now brings his season line to a 5-3 record with seven saves, a 7.27 ERA, 1.638 WHIP and 18.1 percent strikeout rate over 43 1/3 innings of work. Montero has long since moved on from getting save opportunities, and at this point there's no reason he should be rostered in any format.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
