Rafael Ortega Triples In Loss
3 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Rafael Ortega leadoff for the club on Wednesday and had himself a nice evening versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Ortega went 2-for-3 with a triple, RBI and stolen base. He was also caught stealing in the contest. Despite his nice evening, manager David Ross yanked Ortega early with pinch-hitter Jake Marisnick in the top of the eighth inning. Ortega has started four of the last five games for the Cubs and has gotten a minimum of one hit in each of those games. Ortega has appeared to be the beneficiary to playing time with Joc Pederson now in Atlanta and he is hitting .273 with two home runs, seven RBI and three stolen bases in 77 at-bats. Despite the recent success, Ortega is best suited as a DFS option for now.
