Raheem Mostert To Miss Eight Weeks
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (knee) will miss the next eight weeks, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The injury will land him on IR and is being described as chipped cartilage in his knee. The 29-year-old showed his explosiveness on two carries that gained 20 yards in the season opener against the Detroit Lions, and he then exited the game shortly after. He is worth keeping on your bench for the time being, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect elite production from him upon his return to the lineup. With this news, rookie running back Elijah Mitchell will be one of the most added players off the waiver wire after his impressive performance in his NFL debut. Trey Sermon and JaMycal Hasty will figure to cut into his workload, so this may be a backfield to avoid entirely if you are looking for consistent fantasy production.
