Raiders Not In A Rush On Derek Carr Extension
3 years agoThe Las Vegas Raiders don't appear to be in a rush to sign quarterback Derek Carr to a contract extension this offseason, and Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby is expected to land an extension before Carr. Carr is entering the final year of a five-year, $125 million deal, and it seems the Raiders would prefer to do a shorter deal with the signal-caller. Head coach Josh McDaniels said negotiations with Carr haven't begun yet, but he said that Carr will "absolutely" be the team's starter under center in Week 1 of the 2022 season. He is scheduled to make $19.8 million this year, which ranks 15th among NFL QBs. If Carr remains in Las Vegas with McDaniels, he could become even more efficient as a high-end QB2 for fantasy managers.
