Raimel Tapia Drops To Sixth In The Batting Order
4 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia went 1-for-3 with a single in a 3-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Friday. Giants' starter Johnny Cueto held the Rockies offense down over 8 2/3 innings, limiting them to just four hits and one run. It could have been the Coors Field hangover for the Rockies as they opened the year with seven straight home games before opening up this series vs. the Giants. Tapia dropped to sixth in the batting order on Friday after batting first or second in his first five games. It's unclear if this will be a new spot for him or manager Bud Black was just trying to mix things up. Either way, the 27-year-old has scuffled at the plate to begin the season with a .214/.214/.321 batting line to go along with one home run and three RBI over 28 at-bats. He's yet to draw a walk or steal a base as well. He's still roster-worthy in deeper mixed and NL-only leagues but his fantasy value would take a hit if he starts hitting towards the bottom of the order.
