Raimel Tapia Goes Yard On Wednesday
4 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia slugged his first Cactus League home run on Wednesday when he went 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI against the Athletics. Tapia took Jordan Weems deep for an opposite-field home run with Brendan Rodgers aboard in the bottom of the third inning. The two-run shot helped make up for a pair of costly errors he committed earlier in the game. The 27-year-old has now led off in two of three Cactus League games for the Rockies and looks primed to start the season as their everyday leadoff man. Tapia put together an excellent 2020 season after a strong finish. He ended with a .321/.369/.402 batting line to go along with one home run, 17 RBI and eight stolen bases over 184 at-bats. He has some holes in his swing and apart from last season has never been a great source for on-base percentage, but he'll carry a lot of fantasy value if he can bat in the top spot for the Rockies this year.
