Raimel Tapia Picks Up Second Home Run Of The Year On Saturday
4 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a strikeout in a 4-3 loss to the Mets in Game 1 of their doubleheader on Saturday. Tapia capped off a three-run fifth inning for the Rockies when he took Jacob deGrom deep for his second homer of the year. The 27-year-old led off for Colorado in Game 1 but sat out Game 2. He's reached base safely in 6-of-8 games and is slashing .260/.302/.380 with two home runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. If he can start to get on base more consistently he could usurp the leadoff spot from Garrett Hampson, which would be a huge boost to his fantasy value.
