Raisel Iglesias Saves Second Game
6 years agoCincinnati Reds closer Raisel Iglesias pitched a scoreless ninth to preserve a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday. Iglesias made it interesting as he allowed two baserunners in the frame. Iglesias now has a 0-2 record, two saves, 4.05 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and eight strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings of work this year. While he hasn't been particularly sharp, Iglesias' role as the team's closer is secure. The Reds got off to a brutal start this season, which limited his save chances. Now that they are playing better, he should start seeing more chances to close out games. Stay patient with Iglesias if you drafted him.
