Ramon Laureano Extends On-Base Streak to 28 Games
6 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano ended up 2-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 9-8 slugfest against the Texas Rangers, extending his on-base streak to 28 games. It is the longest active streak in the majors. He has hit safely in 21 of the past 22 games, too, raising his average from .222 to .259 just since May 14, and he has managed 14 runs scored during the impressive run, too. Laureano stumbled out of the chute earlier in the season, but he has picked up the pace and is living up to his preseason hype.
