4 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano will bat leadoff for the second time this season Friday with Marcus Semien (side) unavailable. Laureano will square off with San Diego right-hander Zach Davies, and despite his August malaise, will have considerable DFS appeal hitting atop the order. Many of Laureano’s Statcast metrics are right in line with his career averages, but it’s his struggles against breaking pitches that have been to his detriment this year with a .186 xBA through his first 30 games. While he may not deliver on his pre-season expectations, Laureano can still be a serviceable season-long commodity over the year’s final three-plus weeks.--Jesse Borek
