7 years agoThe Los Angeles Rams will not use the franchise tag on impending free-agent wide receiver Sammy Watkins. If they use the tag, it will be on safety Lamarcus Joyner. However, the team would still like to keep Watkins. After being traded over from the Bills, Watkins had only 39 catches for 593 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games with the Rams in 2017. While the touchdown total was nice, Watkins was way too inconsistent for fantasy owners and only really produced when Robert Woods was injured. Watkins will be one of the better wideouts on the open market if he remains there, but he probably won't be all that attractive to fantasy owners, no matter where he lands.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
