Randal Grichuk Homers In Rehab Game
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Randal Grichuk (knee) moved his rehab up a notch to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, and his first game for the Bisons was a successful one. Grichuk hit a two-run shot in his debut, giving him two home runs total in his rehab outings with a .235 batting average. Grichuk has now played six rehab games across High-A, Double-A and Triple-A and should be nearing a return to Toronto’s lineup soon. He’s been on the disabled list since April 30 with a sprained right PCL. The problem when he returns will be playing time, though. Toronto’s crowded outfield isn’t producing like it once was, but that doesn’t mean there’s a clear path to everyday playing time for Grichuk. He’ll also obviously need to improve on the putrid .106/.208/.227 slash line he put up prior to the injury.
