Randy Dobnak Continues To Excel
4 years agoMinnesota Twins pitcher Randy Dobnak continues to be a reliable starter for the team. Dobnak earned his third win of the season on Monday night, pitching five innings of one-run ball and striking out three while walking just one. The 25-year-old got himself into a bit of trouble in the first inning, but worked his way out of a one-out, runners on second and third jam. While there will likely be some regression to the mean, Dobnak leads the majors right now with a 0.90 ERA and a 66.7 percent groundball rate. As catcher Alex Avila pointed out, there's considerably more dip on Dobnak's sinker this year, which certainly contributes to the large number of groundballs he gets. Dobnak will look to keep it going on August 17 against the Royals.
