2 years agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Randy Dobnak (finger) had another setback in his recovery from a right middle finger strain and had a cortisone shot in his finger on July 1. Dobnak had played catch from 120 feet and threw a 15-pitch fastball-only bullpen session at around 75% before his most recent setback. He'll be down for about two more weeks before he tries to ramp up again, but he thinks he could make a reasonably quick return to pitching thereafter in around a month and a half if his finger cooperates. There's a surgical option, but there's very little precedent for that procedure in a baseball context. The 27-year-old has yet to pitch for Minnesota in 2022, and there remains no timetable for his return.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
