Ranger Suarez Earns Seven-Out Save Versus Red Sox
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Ranger Suarez earned his second save of the season by throwing 2 1/3 scoreless innings at Fenway Park on Sunday. Suarez allowed a hit and two walks, but picked up four strikeouts to preserve a 5-4 win for the visitors. The 26-year-old righty needed a season-high 45 pitches to nail down the save as Philly deployed a bullpen game after scheduled starter Aaron Nola was placed on the COVID-IL hours before the game. Suarez has easily been the best reliever for the Phillies in the first half, pitching to a 0.77 ERA with a 0.74 WHIP across 33 2/3 innings. He's earned the last two saves for Philly and is the RP to roster in fantasy leagues that reward saves.
