3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez is scheduled to pitch against the Baltimore Orioles in a Grapefruit League game on Friday. It will allow him to pitch Wednesday's spring training finale on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays and then in the fourth game of the season on April 11 against the New York Mets. Suarez arrived late to camp due to visa issues, but he'll be ready for the start of the regular season. The 26-year-old left-hander wasn't really used as a starter until the second half last year, but he finished with an eye-opening 1.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 107 strikeouts in 106 innings. Suarez had a knack for inducing soft contact and keeping the ball on the ground, and if he can continue that trend, those that invest in him in 2022 will be extremely happy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
