Ranger Suarez Turns In Another Strong Start Versus Dodgers
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings with four strikeouts in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Thursday. Suarez allowed three hits and two walks while throwing a season-high 82 pitches as the Phillies continue to build up the pitch count for the former reliever. Across 50 2/3 innings this season as a starter, closer, and long reliever, Suarez has a 1.07 ERA, a 0.87 WHIP, and 51 strikeouts as he's been one of the most valuable arms for manager Joe Girardi. Suarez will eventually give up some runs as he pitches deeper into games, but he's shown enough to be worth a speculative add in all fantasy leagues, especially with a matchup against the punchless Diamondbacks up next.
