7 years agoLeague-wide interest in former New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey is pretty scant, but it seems as if at least one club has “mild” interest. According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Texas Rangers have that mild interest in Harvey, which makes sense. Former Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen, who coached Harvey when he was at the top of his game, is now the assistant pitching coach in Texas. Odds still remain that the Mets can’t find a trade partner for Harvey and he’s released, but all it takes is one team to believe Harvey still has something left to the point they want to ensure nobody else has a shot at acquiring him.--John Smith
