Rangers Or Bust For Clayton Kershaw?
3 years agoFree-agent starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw may choose to retire if he doesn't sign with his hometown Texas Rangers in 2022, according to a former teammate of Kershaw's. The future Hall of Fame left-hander became a free agent when the Los Angeles Dodgers chose not to make him a qualifying offer. The door is open for a return to LA, but the Rangers were expressing interest in Kershaw before the lockout in early December of last year. The 33-year-old battled injuries in 2021 and posted a 3.55 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 144 strikeouts and 21 walks in 121 2/3 innings over 22 starts. The eight-time All-Star has become more of a back-end fantasy starter heading into the 2022 season, especially since he's still without a team.
