3 years agoThe Texas Rangers are receiving a trio of pitcher prospects from the Phillies for starting pitcher Kyle Gibson and relief pitcher Ian Kennedy, according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. Along with this update, Levi Weaver of The Athletic now reports that Rangers prospect Hans Crouse is going to Philadelphia in this deal as well. The Rangers will get starting pitchers Spencer Howard, Kevin Gowdy and Josh Gessner in this deal. Howard is 0-2 with a 5.72 ERA, 1.482 WHIP and 24.4 percent strikeout rate over 28 1/3 innings with the Phillies this year, while Gowdy is 4-5 with a 4.43 ERA and 1.361 WHIP at High-A and Gessner is sporting a 1.17 ERA and 0.783 WHIP with 14 strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings at the Florida Complex League. Meanwhile looking at Crouse's numbers at Double-A, he has gone 3-2 with a 3.35 ERA, 0.902 WHIP and 27.7 percent strikeout rate over 51 innings pitched. All four of these prospects are still a ways away from making an impact in fantasy, but they should all be considered in dynasty formats.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
