Rashaad Penny Expected To Be Primary Back
2 years agoAs long as he stays healthy, Seattle Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny will be the starter and primary RB for Seattle in 2022 with Chris Carson's (neck) status currently unknown. But Penny has never had more than 119 carries in a season due to injuries of his own. If Carson can't play, The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta thinks it's a realistic projection that Penny gets around 20 carries a game after averaging 20.25 in the four 100-yard games he had at the end of last year. Rookie Kenneth Walker III would get most of the change-of-pace work, with Travis Homer and/or DeeJay Dallas getting in a few third-down/two-minute back role work per game. Penny was one of the best backs in football down the stretch in 2021, but his lengthy injury history will make him a risk/reward RB3/flex in fantasy drafts.
