Rashard Higgins Will Play More As Season Progresses
3 years agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins, who played just four snaps in Week 1, should see his role expand as the season carries on. "He was our fourth receiver going in," noted offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. "We played a lot of three receiver sets. He came in and spelled guys when the time was right. His play will increase as the year goes along. He was coming back from a little injury, little tightness from a couple of weeks back. So it's just getting him back into the groove now." Higgins had a solid end to 2020, catching 18 of 27 targets for 294 yards and four touchdowns over his final four games of the season. As of now, the 26-year-old is blocked on the depth chart by Odell Beckham Jr. (knee), Jarvis Landry, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Anthony Schwartz (knee). He isn't worth rostering at the moment but represents an intriguing option down the road if a Cleveland receiver were to suffer an injury.
