Ravens Won't Rush Extension With Lamar Jackson
3 years agoThe Baltimore Ravens would like to eventually get a contract extension done with quarterback Lamar Jackson, but they won't rush the process. General manager Eric DeCosta said on Friday that the team is working at Jackson's pace, with the quarterback negotiating his own contract. "He's comfortable where we are right now. I think he feels that we have a lot of unfinished business, he has a lot of unfinished business. He wants to win the division. He wants to win the Super Bowl," DeCosta said. The Ravens picked up Jackson's fifth-year option for 2022 ($27.69 million fully guaranteed). If no deal is struck before, the Ravens also have the option of using the franchise tag. An ankle injury limited Jackson to 12 games in 2021, and he threw for 2,882 yards with 16 touchdowns and a career-high 13 interceptions while running for 767 yards and two TDs on a career-low 133 attempts. If fully healthy, Jackson should rebound to being an elite QB1 for fantasy managers in 2022.
