6 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays received 25-year-old Jalen Beeks from the Boston Red Sox in return for Nathan Eovaldi. Beeks was crushed in his first two MLB appearances, but he has been an effective pitcher in the minors this season. Beeks has compiled a 5-5 record with a solid 2.89 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 117/25 K/BB ratio through 16 starts at Triple-A Pawtucket. Perhaps the most promising thing for Beeks is the fact that he now has a clearer path to a rotation spot in the majors. It seems likely that the Rays will call-up Beeks at some point this season, and while he does not look like a world-beater, he could be an interesting sleeper option for fantasy managers.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
