Rays Add Veteran Rich Hill On One-Year Deal
4 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays and pitcher Rich Hill agreed to a one-year $2.5 million contract, according to ESPN. The 40-year-old Hill has played for nine teams across 16 Major League seasons and will add pitching depth to a Rays team that lost Charlie Morton and Blake Snell this offseason. The left-hander will fill-out the back of Tampa Bay's pitching staff with Collin McHugh, Chris Archer, and Michael Wacha all expected to both start games and serve as a bulk reliever behind an opener. Hill's injury history limits his innings he shouldn't be drafted in teams shallower than 15 teams. However, he has been good when healthy including posting a 3.06 xERA in 2019 with the Dodgers so he has plenty of DFS appeal and can be started as a streaming pitcher against a good matchup.
