3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays are being aggressive in talks for free-agent first baseman Freddie Freeman, according to sources. It's hard to believe that they are one of the finalists for Freeman's services, as they are currently bidding against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. Freeman would be a huge upgrade over Ji-Man Choi at first base in Tampa. The 32-year-old five-time All-Star is one of the best all-around bats in baseball, let alone at the first base position. Freeman finished 2021 with a .300/.393/.503 slash line with 31 home runs, 83 RBI and eight stolen bases in a league-high 695 plate appearances over 159 games in the regular season.
