3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays optioned second baseman/outfielder Vidal Brujan to minor league camp on Wednesday, trimming the number of active players in camp to 37. Brujan went just 2-for-26 with eight strikeouts for the Rays in his first taste of MLB action in 10 games for Tampa in 2021, so he could use a little more minor league seasoning before returning to the Show. But the switch-hitting 24-year-old is the team's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and he should show his face in Tampa again at some point in 2022. He's mainly attractive for his speed -- 44 stolen bases in the minors last year -- but it could be difficult for Brujan to secure an everyday role with the Rays in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
