2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays recalled right-handed starter Tommy Romero on Tuesday. Romero made his Major League debut earlier this season, giving up five hits, three earned runs, two hits, and a home run in 1.2 innings of work. He also struck out a batter in that start before allowing just a home run in two innings in his next outing. Romero's second appearance came in relief and also included three strikeouts. The 24-year-old has thrown 54.1 innings for Tampa Bay's Triple-A affiliate this season, pitching to a 3.98 ERA, a 5.63 FIP, 46 strikeouts, and 22 walks in 13 appearances. Of those 13 Triple-A appearances, 12 were starts.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
