6 years agoThe Boston Red Sox have traded for second baseman Ian Kinsler from the Los Angeles Angels. Kinsler is a veteran bat who adds depth and experience to the Red Sox lineup. Kinsler is having a mild year in terms of offensive statistics. He is only batting .239 with 13 home runs and 32 RBI through 91 games this season. With Dustin Pedroia being hurt for most of the year, it has been a bit of a revolving door at second base for the Red Sox. Thankfully, general manager Dave Dombrowski has already stated that Kinsler should be the everyday second baseman for the team. This definitely increases Kinsler's fantasy value as he now has exposure to that potent Red Sox lineup. Likewise, it will limit the starts that Eduardo Nunez and Brock Holt see. Going to the Angels in the trade are relief prospects Williams Jerez and Ty Buttrey. They are still years away from any fantasy consideration.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
