Red Sox Haven't Discussed Extension With Nathan Eovaldi
3 years agoThe Boston Red Sox haven't engaged in contract-extension conversations with starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi and his representatives, according to a source. Eovaldi will be eligible for free agency after the 2022 season. However, there is an expectation that the team and agents Sam and Seth Levinson could engage in contract talks after this season. Eovaldi doesn't want to discuss any contract matters during the season. The right-hander would currently be considered one of the top starting pitchers on the free-agent market if he gets there, with Sean Manaea, Noah Syndergaard and Mike Clevinger being the other big names. The 32-year-old has become Boston's ace after going 11-9 with a 3.75 ERA last year.
