Red Sox Looking At Trevor Story
3 years agoAfter losing out on first baseman Freddie Freeman, the Boston Red Sox are taking a look at free-agent shortstop Trevor Story. However, Story would likely have to play second base in Boston with two-time World Series champion Xander Bogaerts at shortstop. Other possible options for Story include the St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Twins, Houston Astros and others. The 29-year-old reportedly wants to go somewhere where he can remain at shortstop, but perhaps the Red Sox persuade him with enough cash. Story, a two-time All-Star, hit 24 home runs with 75 RBI and 20 steals last year, but he disappointed with a .251 batting average in 142 games. He'll still be a strong shortstop target in fantasy drafts, but leaving Coors Field will be a downgrade.
