Red Sox Not Considering Dealing Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers
2 years agoBoston Red Sox president Sam Kennedy said "there's been no discussion or communication internally or externally" about trading shortstop Xander Bogaerts or third baseman Rafael Devers. The Red Sox have lost eight of their last 10 games and might become sellers rather than buyers as the Aug. 2 trade deadline rapidly approaches. However, they are still unlikely to trade two of their best players in Bogaerts and Devers. Bogaerts is expected to opt out of his deal after this season and test the free-agent market, so of the two, he'd make more sense to be traded this summer. Devers isn't eligible to become a free agent until 2024, and he also just landed on the injured list last Saturday with right hamstring inflammation.
