6 years agoThe Boston Red Sox have placed relief pitcher Hector Velazquez (back) on the 10-day injured list with a lower-back strain. The right-hander was struggling so far this season out of the 'pen, compiling a 5.97 ERA and 1.44 WHIP through 18 appearances, seven of which were starts. This injury could be the reason for his early season struggles, as he has shown he can handle pitching in the big leagues before. Mike Shawaryn has been called up to take his spot in the bullpen.
