Red Sox Place Nathan Eovaldi On 15-Day Injured List
2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox placed starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) on the 15-day injured with right shoulder inflammation. The move was made retroactive to August 19. Eovaldi had previously started 18 games for Boston this season, throwing 99.2 innings and working to a 4.15 ERA and a 4.50 FIP while striking out 96 batters and allowing 18 walks. What's more, he has five pitcher wins in those 18 starts. Boston also placed first baseman Eric Hosmer on the 10-day injured list and recalled right-hander Josh Wincokowski and first baseman and outfielder Francy Cordero from Triple-A.
