6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (shoulder) threw off flat ground on Monday and was scheduled to throw an indoor bullpen session on Tuesday in anticipation of his Game 1 start in the American League Division Series against either the A's or Yankees. Sale's velocity was down in his final two regular season starts, but he is hoping to correct a minor mechanical issue that was causing the velocity drop. "He feels better," manager Alex Cora said. "Yesterday was good. Honestly, it's not a huge adjustment. I'm glad he saw it first-hand. It should be easy to fix." Sale has made four starts since he returned from the disabled list on Sept. 11, and he threw 233 pitches over 12 innings. Because there remain slight concerns about Sale's left shoulder, he might not be worth paying up for in DFS in Game 1 this Friday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
