6 years agoThe Detroit Red Wings went with German defenseman Moritz Seider with the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft on Friday. General manager Steve Yzerman obviously liked what he saw from the rearguard who competed with the Mannheim Eagles in Germany's top league, posting two goals and six points with a plus-2 rating across 29 games, while also showing out for Germany in the IIHF World Junior Championships. His upside is intriguing, and Red Wings fans will be watching the 2020 World Junior Championship with very close attention.--Daniel Dobish
