6 years agoOn Thursday, the Cincinnati Reds acquired catcher Curt Casali from the Tampa Bay Rays for cash considerations. In a corresponding move, they optioned backup catcher Tony Cruz to Triple-A Louisville. Casali has spent all of the 2018 season with Tampa's Triple-A affiliate but he will report to the Reds as their primary backup to starter Tucker Barnhart. Casali appeared in nine games for the Rays in 2017, batting .333.--Matt T - RotoBaller
