Redskins Add Playmaker Antonio Gibson
5 years agoThe Washington Redskins used the 66th overall pick in the NFL Draft on Memphis running back Antonio Gibson. While he's classified as a running back, Gibson has also played wide receiver and adds explosiveness to a Washington offense that needs playmakers. Gibson has good speed for a runner of his size and should fill the Chris Thompson role as a pass-catching back to complement Derrius Guice. He should contribute immediately on special teams, as he was the first-team return specialist in the American Athletic Conference. But with veteran Adrian Peterson also in the mix in this backfield for at least another season, Gibson's redraft upside won't be very high. He might be worth a flier late in deep PPR leagues.
