2 years agoBoston Red Sox catcher Reese McGuire will be out of the starting lineup again on Friday against the Texas Rangers. McGuire will be out of the starting lineup for the third straight game on Friday despite going 20-for-54 (.370) with no homers, five RBI and five runs scored in 18 games since joining the team on Aug. 3. He's battling for playing time with both Kevin Plawecki and Connor Wong. Wong is doing the catching on Friday and will hit ninth against Rangers left-hander Dallas Keuchel. The 26-year-old will be playing in just his sixth game for the Red Sox and 12th game in his two major league seasons.
