Reserves Rave About Justin Fields
3 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields finished up his first professional preseason completing 30-of-49 passes for 274 yards, three touchdowns, zero interceptions and 94 rushing yards through three games. Each game, Fields has flashed his other-worldly athleticism and play-making ability, including a 22-yard laser throw for a touchdown on a roll-out to tight end Jesper Horsted against the Titans on Saturday. Reserves like wide receiver Jon'Vea Johnson have taken notice, telling reporters, "He just looks so poised," Johnson said. "I've been trying (to) do it like him. I've been feeling like he's just smooth with it." Fields will serve as the backup for Week 1 against the Rams but could be the starter by the end of September.
