Rhys Hoskins Collects Three Hits Versus Yankees
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins went 3-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored, a walk, and a stolen base in Grapefruit League action against the Yankees. With only 10 career steals, fantasy managers shouldn't expect too much running from Hoskins, but it was good to see him hitting the ball well again after having his 2020 season ended by an elbow injury. Hoskins hit the ball as anyone last year with a 14.8 percent barrel rate to go with his 89th-percentile xwOBA. Despite his strong contact skills, he does whiff a bit too much which hurts his batting average. However, he does sport an elite 15.8 percent walk rate for his career which gives him a boost in leagues that value on-base percentage.
