Rhys Hoskins Homers To Snap 0-for-33 Slump
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in a win over the Dodgers on Wednesday. Hoskins took Clayton Kershaw deep in the first inning to snap an 0-for-33 skid at the plate. The big first baseman has had a rough year as his 26.1 percent strikeout rate is the highest mark of his career while his 8.7 percent walk rate is the lowest. Hoskins is a notoriously streaky hitter, however; when he gets hot his homers tend to come in bunches like last season when he launched eight homers in an 18 game stretch. He's not a must-start first baseman in fantasy right now, but he should be rostered as he could go on a power binge as the weather continues to heat up.
