Rhys Hoskins Off To Slow Start This Spring
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins is 7-for-27 so far this spring with 12 strikeouts in 11 games. Given that it's Spring Training, there's not too much to worry about with Hoskins, but he is coming off a down season where he hit just .226 with an expected batting average of .221. Despite the bad batting average, Hoskins should provide big power thanks to a career fly ball rate over 50 percent that boosts his power totals playing in hitter-friendly Philadelphia. Hoskins should provide plenty of homers and RBI, but unless his batting average bounces back, he won't return value on his average draft position of 105th overall.
