Rhys Hoskins Stays Cold With 0-For-3 Night
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins went 0-for-3 with a walk Thursday night in San Francisco. The walk made him one of only three baserunners on the night for the Phillies as they were completely dominated by Madison Bumgarner. Hoskins has struggled in the second half as his average now sits at .198 since the All-Star break and he hasn't had a multi-hit game since July 24. Despite the slump, fantasy owners should stick with the big first baseman as his struggles can largely be chalked up to a .212 BABIP in the second half. He is still making hard contact at a 43 percent rate and his walk rate of 16.1 percent gives him a solid floor in points leagues or those that use on-base percentage. He's got a good matchup tonight against Tyler Beede so fantasy owners should continue to start him and hope he busts out of this soon.
