7 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello was extremely efficient leading into the seventh inning in an 8-3 win over the Blue Jays Tuesday. He only threw 75 pitches through six innings. However, Porcello got into trouble in the seventh inning when he hit Russell Martin and walked Kendrys Morales, followed by a single that loaded the bases. He was pulled after a grounder allowed two runs to score when Porcello couldn’t receive a throw from Dustin Pedroia. Porcello was charged with an error, which actually saved himself an earned run. He finished the night allowing two earned runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings while walking two and striking out five batters. Porcello will face a tough opponent in Houston for his next start.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
