Rick Porcello Hit In Head During Start, Remains In Game
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello was struck in the head with a Willson Contreras line drive on Monday but was able to get up immediately and remained in the game. It was reported that all concussion tests came back negative. He finished four complete innings, allowing two earned runs, while striking out three, and scattering four hits, including a home run to pitcher Cole Hamels. This was the former Cy Young winner's final tuneup before the regular season and he is expected to start one of the games this coming weekend against the Mariners. At just 30 years old, Porcello is a solid source of innings and strikeouts for one of the top teams in baseball, making him a strong fantasy option in any format.
