5 years agoCleveland Browns tight end Rico Gathers made a 10-yard reception during goal-line drills on a pass play from backup quarterback Drew Stanton at practice on Monday. "I wanted to see what the new guy could do," head coach Freddie Kitchens said. Gathers, recently added after being jettisoned by the Dallas Cowboys, was taking advantage of the absence of both TEs David Njoku (knee) and Seth DeValve (concussion). With a rather full tight ends room, Gathers has rather limited value from a fantasy perspective, but should one of the top two tight ends on the depth chart suffer a long-term injury, Gathers could factor in once he gets acclimated on the north shore.--Daniel Dobish
